About two years ago, Xiaomi introduced its first generation smart robo-dog – the CyberDog. The smart robo-dog is pioneering developments that could fundamentally alter how we engage with robotic technology by fusing intelligence, realistic characteristics, and a cooperative open-source environment.
Now, the Chinese giant has unveiled the trailer video of its next-generation smart robo-dog – the CyberDog 2. The brand announced this via its official X (formerly Twitter) page with the tag: “Canine Tech Dance Battle.”
In the post, Xiaomi is inviting tech enthusiasts to join the CyberDog 2 battling party, which is said to be a festive event beyond just technology and circuitry. No specific date is given, but the video showcases how Xiaomi is making a new dawn with the smart robo-dog.
CyberDog 2: The Canine Tech Dance Battle
There is no doubt that CyberDog 2 is here to make a new dawn from the tagline. The first generation Xiaomi CyberDog didn’t look like a dog as it was said at that time. But with CyberDog 2, the design has been completely overhauled and taken the shape of a Doberman. This robot dog is actually the size of a Doberman.
However, it is smaller than the previous version. But they only weigh 8.9 kg, which is not comparable. The CyberDog 2 is small in size and comes with the company’s proprietary CyberGear Micro driver.
Besides, the CyberDog 2 is capable of performing more difficult tricks like consecutive backflips and fall recoveries. This robotic dog contains 19 sensors for vision, touch, and hearing, in addition to a system for making decisions. Naturally, Xiaomi CyberDog 2 can accomplish all of this using data from its internal sensors and cameras. Xiaomi CyberDog 2 offers a lifelike look and mobility when combined with capabilities like dynamic stability, post-fall recovery, and 1.6 m/s running speed.
Whereas the 19 various sensors that make up the Xiaomi CyberDog 2’s detecting and decision-making system enable the device to navigate admirably with the help of its senses of sight, touch, and hearing. An RGB camera, an AI-powered interactive camera, 4 ToF sensors, a LiDAR sensor, a depth camera, an ultrasonic sensor, a fisheye lens sensor, a force sensor, and two Ultra Wideband sensors are just a few of the capabilities that the smart robo-dog boasts.
Making CyberDog 2 open source is one of the manufacturer’s other stated objectives for the product. Xiaomi intends to get programmers to create applications specifically for the Xiaomi CyberDog 2 by releasing its programming tools and dog-detecting skills. The new smart is said to likely go official for around $1,789. Thus, stay connected with TechGenyz.
