YouTube Local Language Content Rolled Out for Indian Users

YouTube has rolled out a new feature – now users will see more local language video content on Home and Trending. Based on the watch history, the video streaming giant will automatically identify the preferred local language and will display more content in that language on Home and Trending feed. From now users to get more recommendations in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

The suggestion is based on how users are browsing content on YouTube with some other factors like user interface language and location. If you see that you are not getting an actual recommendation you can select your language preference here or it will be updated automatically once you browse more content on that language.

As a part of the new update, you’ll see more local language videos in two places – Home and Trending.

YouTube Local Language Content

On Home, you will see more local language content such as movies and music, especially if they are first time user. If you are an existing YouTube user, you will continue to receive great recommendations on the preferences what you watch.

The new update also recommends Trending videos on the right of your YouTube page – you see will see more trending videos on their local language. For example, if users have indicated the preference for Tamil, Trending will contain videos that are trending amongst Tamil-speaking users in India.

The new feature has already been rolled out for all users on YouTube.
