YouTube has terminated over 270 accounts, removed over 150,000 videos, and turned off comments on more than 625,000 videos. According to the company, these videos led to encouraging pedophiles or even child predators.

The website gave the statement to VICE News, including the following: “Over the past week we removed ads from nearly 2 million videos and over 50,000 channels masquerading as family-friendly content. Content that endangers children is abhorrent and unacceptable to us.

The whole action, along with ad removal from deceiving videos, was a response to the site’s numerous reports regarding sexualized videos of children.

The volunteer moderators for YouTube said that about 100,000 accounts are still making ‘inappropriate comments videos featuring children.’ They earlier claimed that screening comments using tools has failed.

Meanwhile, YouTube was showing unethical auto-complete suggestions as well, presumably being a victim of cyber attack.

As a result of the entire scenario, major brands started pulling out ads from YouTube. The same had thereafter expanded across the Google Network as a response to an issue concerning hate videos.
