The Redmi K30 is unfolded into a 4G and a 5G version, although both models have much in common. The screen is one of the elements they share, with a 6.67-inch LCD panel and a screen refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The screen goes from edge to edge achieving a front screen-to-body ratio of 91%. On the front, it also features the design of a pill-hole camera as seen on the Galaxy S10+ with a dual-sensor combination of 20 + 2-megapixel sensor.
Redmi has spent the last weeks promoting the Redmi K30 as its first 5G mobile, but we didn’t know that it would come hand in hand with an alternative 4G version. Obviously, the main difference between both models is in the connectivity: classic 4G for one and another 5G model with both SA and NSA for the other.
This connectivity comes from the hand of the two Qualcomm gaming processors. The Redmi K30 4G has the Snapdragon 730G chipset, while the Redmi K30 5G raises the bet to the latest Snapdragon 765G. Other aspects related to performance such as RAM or storage remain the same in both models.
The Redmi K30 5G features a 64-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX686 sensor, a wide 8-megapixel angle, a 5 MP macro sensor and an additional 5MP for the bokeh. It is the same combination for the Redmi K30 4G with the only difference that in its macro camera is 2 megapixels.
Both models have a 4,500 mAh battery with fast charge support, although this is slightly faster in the 5G model: 30W for 5G model and 27W for the 4G model. Of course, the company ensures that this 30W fast charge exceeds more than some 40W fast charges from the competition. The fingerprint sensor is located on the side.
The Redmi K30 has been presented in China, with the available color options including blue, pink, purple, and white. Both devices can be purchased from December 12 in China. Here are the prices of each model:
