LG G8x ThinQ model which was first launched in September 2019 at IFA 2019, Europe’s annual biggest technological exhibition, and further launched in India in December 2019 have now got access to the LG Pay app.
LG Pay app, a mobile payment service was launched in South Korea three years ago in 2017 and reached the US last year. It has now been introduced in all LG G-series and V-series flagship models. LG G8x ThinQ model which has received mixed reviews for its dual-screen feature can now add LG Pay to its list of pros.
As with other mobile payment services, the LG Pay app makes it convenient for the user to not only store all his physical debit or credit card information in one secure location but also to store gift cards and loyalty cards on this app. There is also an exclusive feature to switch gift cards between different brands.
The success of LG pay still hangs in the balance as it faces tough competition from Google’s own Google Pay which is almost universally present on all Android phones. Also, mobile pay apps like Samsung Pay and Apple pay on their respective company handsets are tough competitors. The jury is still out on LG’s mobile payment app.
