Ola launched its “Ola Emergency” service in Mumbai on 20th April. Including Mumbai, the service has been made available across 15 major Indian cities. You can pick or drop a person to a hospital for any non-COVID-19 related medical case through this service.
As per Ola, the service aims to “Enable citizens across the country to access essential medical care with minimum delay”. It is being operated in accordance with the safety measures laid down by the Ministry of Health. The concerned state authorities have sanctioned the service in their respective cities.
The drivers are specially trained and the concerned cab is equipped with masks and hand-sanitizers. Ola also insists that proper social-distancing protocol is followed. Ola Emergency platform permits trip only from homes to hospitals and vice versa.
Trips may include scheduled check-ups, chemotherapy sessions, accidental injuries amongst other medical essentials. A nominal fee will be charged to remunerate the driver. Ola has mapped multiple hospitals in the respective cities which will be shown on its app while making the booking. In Mumbai, more than 200 hospitals have been mapped.
