Regarding smartphone innovation, the Chinese tech giant Oppo occupies a higher position on the ladder. The company comes with a bunch of new introductions and patents that appear to be one-of-its-kind. Moreover, the number of patents that Oppo files each year is significant.
Very recently, everyone noticed that the Chinese company has filed for a patent for a dual-sided smartphone with a Wrap-Around display. Before that, Oppo also made public the Oppo X 2021 and Oppo rollable phone concept. Having said that, Oppo is limiting or restricting themselves only to coming up with new innovations in the smartphone arena. The company very recently also published a patent entitled “A method, device, storage medium, and electronic equipment for writing trajectory recognition in the air”. Oppo has kept this new patent under tight wraps, in the sense that, there has been no news regarding the patent until up to its official announcement. Moreover, the company has not published the details of the patent. However, the patent abstract shows that by employing the embodiments as described in the application, the accuracy of aerial writing trajectory recognition can be improved by a lot. Although how the aerial writing would work with the new embodiments specified in the patent has not yet been revealed by the company.
The wrap-around display model for smartphones the patents of which Oppo published very recently was exposed by the various news outlets. The patent described the company’s ability to assemble and design large-size flexible screens. OPPO is constantly trying to explore new forms of mobile phones. Maybe in the future, the company will launch the large-size flexible screen which is described in the patent or a mobile phone that can write in the air.
