After releasing MIUI 9.2 update for Redmi 3, Xiaomi started rolling out the update for Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime. The update was originally scheduled for December 2017 but was delayed due to a critical bug in the update. Xiaomi, however, has completely skipped a 9.0 update in favor of the newer 9.2 for its smartphones.
MIUI, developed by Xiaomi, is an aftermarket firmware for only Android smartphones. The new update will have an improved layout and readability for search results in contact. It will also feature virus scans, ad payment scans, and a switch for turning the battery saver automatically when charged. The 9.2 update is likely to be around 376 MB in size.
The one downside of the Redmi 3S MIUI 9.2 update is that it is based on Android Marshmallow instead of the latest Oreo. It also brings Interactive and Fresh UI changes, along with a new Gallery App, App Vault, New Mi Explorer, and Mi Video App. The Reading Mode, with the help of the new update, can turn on and off at sunrise and sunset automatically. The users do not have to worry too much about the phone’s security as the App Lock supports hiding messages from selected apps. It boosts the smartphone’s image editing powers. It so skillfully erases objects and line while editing photos. The homepage is redesigned completely to help the update work more smoothly. Apart from these, there are plenty of optimizations and bug fixes to help the phone run faster.
Xiaomi Redmi Note is one of Xiaomi’s most popular budget phones. While the older devices like the Redmi Note 3S and Redmi Note 3S Prime have just started getting the new update, some of the new devices like Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4 and Mi Max have already got it.
