MD of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain, has recently teased the launch of the company’s first smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is coming to India. Jain posted an upside-down photograph featuring himself with Lei Jun, who is the CEO and Founder of Xiaomi.
Notably, it will be the second smartphone with a 48MP camera to launch in India, as the first one would be the Honor View 20 that’s launching on January 29. The Redmi Note 7 is a powerful mid-range smartphone. However, it’s unknown whether Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 7 that is already available in China with the Samsung 48MP sensor or the rumored Redmi Note 7 Pro with the Sony 48MP sensor.
On the front of the phone, there’s a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Underneath, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. It could be possible that the Redmi Note 7 will launch in 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB variants in India. The phone also sports a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Note 7 has a 48MP shooter on the back, which works in tandem with a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s a 13MP selfie camera.
At the moment, we’re not sure on the pricing of the Redmi Note 7 in India. Also, it’s unknown whether Xiaomi is planning to bring the 3GB+32GB variant of the handset or not.
