Today, February 21, Facebook Messenger received a new feature that lets you add people to your ongoing audio and video calls. It has been rolled out for Android and iOS users, and the social media giant invites you to update your Messenger to enjoy the new convenience.
So far, you had to start an entirely new conversation or get hold of a previous chat to initiate a group call from an ongoing one-on-one audio or video call. The new feature gets you an icon in the call to add people, and voila! Your one-on-one call has turned into a group call.
All of the other filters and effects are available as well. In fact, nothing has changed, but the new icon has been added to make things easier! In addition, this will automatically create a group chat for you to continue chatting with all the added members even after the call has ended.
This is Facebook’s effort to keep people together ‘seamlessly’ in a call, resembling your intended togetherness in real life! Have you already downloaded the update? Tell us in the comments below about how you are enjoying the convenience.
