Xiaomi was scheduled to launch its latest flagship, Mi Mix 2S, at 2 PM CST or 11:30 AM IST, in Shanghai, China. The much-anticipated phone has finally been launched and boasts of some cool specs like 12 MP dual rear cameras and a bezel-less anterior.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, succeeding Mi Mix 2, is expected to retain most of the designs of its predecessor, with an improvement in the screen-to-body ratio. Powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the phone features 8GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants.
The back of the phone features a vertically-stacked dual rear camera set up with Artificial Intelligence powered features such as object and scene recognition and supporting dual-pixel autofocus, along with features like optical zoom, portrait mode, and 4-axis OIS. Xiaomi is using Sony IMX363 sensor with a 1.4 um pixel size. Apart from the cameras, the back of the phone also features a circular fingerprint sensor. Xiaomi has also teased an improved Face Unlock feature for Mi Mix 2s. As for the phone’s front camera will be housed at the bottom of the display like the Mi Mix 2 and Mi Mix.
Apart from features that have already been confirmed in the launch, some speculated features include a glass back cover, a 5.99-inch screen size, and a glossy finish. The flagship is also expected to be Xiaomi’s first phone to support wireless charging technology.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S shall be shipped in two color variants: white and black.
