Xiaomi has launched Redmi 6 Pro in China yesterday, June 24. It is the first smartphone of the brand to feature the iPhone X-ish notch on its display. Other styles from predecessor Redmi 5 Pro have been kept the same for the new budget phone.
Redmi 6 Pro is a dual-nano SIM phone sporting 5.84-inch FHD+ display supporting 1080 x 2280 pixels with 19:9 aspect ratio and 84% NTSC color gamut. It is fueled by Snapdragon 625 octa-core clocking up to 2 GHz and complemented with Adreno 506 GPU.
The phone runs Android Oreo with MIUI 9 and packs a 4,000mAh battery. It has a dual rear camera with a 12MP primary sensor that bears 1.25-micron pixels, f2.2 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. The secondary sensor is of 5MP. The front camera is equipped with AI portrait mode and HDR in its 5MP sensor. There’s also a fingerprint reader that stylishly sits on the rear panel.
6 Pro is available in three storage variants: 3/32GB for CNY 999 or about Rs. 10,400; 4/32GB for CNY 1,199 or around Rs. 12,500; and 4/64GB for CNY 1,299 or about Rs. 13,600. The handset has a dedicated slot for microSD to take internal memory up to 256GB.
Redmi 6 Pro will be sold starting at 10 am CST on June 26, and registration for first flash sale has been already opened. The color variants are Red, Blue, Black, Gold, and Pink. The company hasn’t disclosed details on handset’s release in other markets.
