Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has launched Marathon M4 in India to be available at the Gionee stores and selected retail outlets. This is perhaps the only smartphone in India with such a huge battery backup in the sub- 15000 range.
The Shanghai-based company claims that the 5000mAh battery can deliver up to 440 hours of standby time and 50 hours of talk time with extreme power saving mode if when the battery runs out.
The Marathon M4 has a 5.0-inch HD AMOLED display running with the latest Android 5.0 lollipop OS version. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor along with 2GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory that can be expanded with a microSD card. On the camera front, users will get an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The new smartphone Gionee comes with dual SIM card slots while supporting India’s 4G LTE network. The drawback of this phone is it does not support 3G network on its SIM 2 slot
Considering the specifications of the smartphone, I expect the M4 to prove competent enough to some of the big names like Samsung and LG.
