AirPlay 2 is now coming to selected 2018, 2019, and 2020 Samsung TV models, making sharing content from an iPhone to Samsung TV easier. Users can stream shows, movies, and music and directly broadcast images from Apple devices to the TV.

Samsung has brought out a list of compatible TVs which include 2020 8K and 4K QLED TVs, 2020 Frame and Serif T, 2020 Crystal UHD TVs, 2019 8K and 4K QLED TVs, 2019 Frame and Serif TV, 2019 4K UHD TV, 2018 Frame TV, 2018 QLED 4K, 2018 4K UHD TV, 2018 Smart Full HDTV N5300.

Connecting an iPhone with the Samsung TV follows a standard procedure. There is, however, some slight variations because a few of the transfer needs to be authenticated by the user. For example, if a code is displayed on the TV screen, the user must also enter it on their iPhones. For playing songs on the TV using the smartphone, the user needs to connect their TV to the internet, on their iPhone select a song, and all they need to do is to tap the AirPlay icon at the bottom of the screen.

The AirPlay settings can also be changed through the TV. Every time that the user tries to connect their iPhone to the TV, the process requires a passcode. The user also has the option of creating their own passcode.

As good as the integration sounds, a few of the users have complained on the online Samsung forum that a Samsung TV with model number 7120 cannot locate the Apple TV app.

It does not seem to be a firmware problem since the model carries firmware 1252 and is up to date.

A Samsung moderator has replied that they are currently working on enabling this function for the model mentioned above. That might have solved a single problem; however, the Samsung Frame TV too is facing the same issue, and the developers are yet to address this problem.
