Even after the lockdown has been lifted in many Indian areas, people still feel hesitant to go out to work. In fact, most people now prefer to work from home. In this scenario, conference video call apps have proved to be a necessity. Zoom and Google Meet are two of the most famous video calling platforms as of now.
However, since the lockdown began, the Government of India has asked its citizens to avoid using Zoom over some privacy issues and subsequently had asked of the homegrown startups to come up with similar apps minus the privacy risk. Mumbai-based startup Inscript has come up with a new video conferencing app called Say Namaste.
The video calling platform, at first, was available only through its website but it is now available both on Google Play store as well as Apple App Store.
Keeping the privacy concerns, as voiced by the GoI in mind, Say Namaste is completely compliant with GDPR, or so claims the app’s CEO Anuj Garg.
As for its features, the app supports up to 50 participants in a group conference video call and comes with screen sharing, text mode, file sharing, and more. The screen sharing feature is similar to that of the Zoom app. The app also allows users to chat via text messages during a video call.
The file-sharing will make it easier for people to manage and share their files with everyone including but not limited to PDFs, presentations, images, video files, and a lot more. Moreover, joining the app is also very easy. There is a Start or Join meeting button on the app, by clicking on it the user will need to create code, and connect.
The Say Namaste app has been downloaded by over 100K users through Google Play Store.
