Apple issued a silent update for Mac to fix Zoom scrambling that had let intruders hijack Mac webcams. As per TechCrunch, Apple has pushed an automatic update to remove the vulnerable component that the web server used to streamline access to the video conferencing app; Zoom while installing it.

The update is not that indispensable since the app has already issued its patch, but this ensures that people running older Zoom releases won’t be vulnerable as before. Regarding the new update, Zoom has partnered with Apple, which could be deployed automatically without any without the need for any additional user interaction.

Though Zoon has released a fixed update on Tuesday Apple claimed that its actions would not only protect users from present but also from past without affecting or hindering the functionality of the Zoom app itself.

This is not the first time that Apple has been pushing silent updates for Mac, but it is rare for Apple to take action publicly against a known or popular app. The company wanted to secure its users from the vulnerability that the users were exposed to.

We’re happy to have worked with Apple on testing this update. We expect the web server issue to be resolved today. We appreciate our users’ patience as we continue to work through addressing their concerns – Priscilla McCarthy, Zoom spokesperson

Currently, Zoom has 750,000 users globally who are using this app for video conferencing.
