Android Gmail App Will Now Send and Receive Money as Attachment

Gmail by Google is the most used email service in the world – more than 1 billion active users log into Gmail via web and app to send emails, attachments, and share photos with their contacts. The search giant introduced a new feature that will allow users to easily attach payments to Gmail messages. Sending messages, files, and photos through Gmail was secured, now the sending and receiving money transactions are also safe.

If you want to send or request money without switching to the Venmo, Square, or Google Wallet apps, just tap into the attachment option in Gmail to send money directly. Most interestingly, you can exchange money with anyone, not just people having Gmail addresses. To send money just tap on the paper clip icon and choose whether you want to send or request money.

Gmail Money Transfer

Google explains, “Recipients are able to receive or request money right from the email itself—without having to install another payment app. They can even arrange for money they receive to go directly into their bank account. Either way, it’s completely free for both of you.”

You can select any amount, or payment source, and write a note, which will then attach to the body of their message. On the receiving end, they will simply need to tap the Claim money link and it will transfer the funds directly into their Google Wallet account. If you don’t have an account, you will need to go through the sign-up process.

Currently, this new feature is only available to U.S. users on the Gmail app or Gmail web.
