After finishing up the Apple Event 2019 that saw the launch of the new iPhone 11 series, Apple Watch, Apple TV and more, Apple posted on its website a new AppleCare+ Headphones plan.
The AppleCare+ plan will cover the expenses of AirPods and some of its Beats headphones for repair and replacement. The AppleCare+ Accidental coverage is valid for two years at just $29. The coverage can even be extended to AirPods and other eligible headphones if they had been purchased within the last 60 days.
Every set of AirPods, Beats earphones or Beats headphones comes with one year of hardware repair coverage and up to 90 days of complimentary support. The new coverage plan, AppleCare+ will extend the coverage to two years from the date of purchase.
The AppleCare+ comes with it an exclusive privilege. The holders of this coverage will get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts through chat or phone.
The AppleCare+ coverage for Headphones includes repair or replacement of the headphones, battery and charging cable. The replacement will be done with the help of the Apple-authorized technicians. The coverage will also cover up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling. However, each of the services will be chargeable of $29 plus tax.
The AppleCare+ coverage can be extended to AirPods and some Beats earphones within 60 days of purchase. However, this coverage is also applicable to new purchases as well. The cost for a single AirPod repair and replacement goes as high up as $69.
When the accidental coverage is being offered at only $29 there is no doubt that consumers are highly likely to prefer AppleCare+ over the regular service charge. There is one downside to the coverage.
However, AppleCare+ would not cover the expenses when the earphones or headphones are stolen or lost. The coverage is applicable to AirPods, Beats EP, Beats Pro, Beats Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio3 Wireless, BeatsX, Powerbeats Pro and Powerbeats3 Wireless.
