It has been nearly a year since the American tech giant Apple released the iPad 9th generation. The iPad was officially unveiled on September 24th, 2021. Now, it seems the tech giant is gearing up to announce the entry-level iPad, the 10th generation launch event. As per reports, the Apple iPad 10 is expected to be officially released this fall, probably in October this year precisely.
According to reports, the iPad 10 adopts a design similar to the iPad mini, with a right-angled middle frame and a power button at the top. The body size is 248.62mm x 179.50mm x 6.98mm, and the size of the iPad Pro 11 is similar. Now, let’s take a tour of some of the expected specifications of the entry-level iPad.
Apple iPad 10 Specs
The iPad 10th generation will run on the A14 Bionic chip, which makes sense as this would still be an upgrade from the 9th generation but a step down from the iPad Air that runs on the M1 chip. It’s the same chip as the iPhone 12 models and iPad Air.
For the memory capacity, the device is rumored to come with a 64GB and a 256GB option, too, while the tech giant is reportedly switching to USB Type-C for charging over Lightning for the entry-level iPad.
In terms of other hardware, we anticipate a Smart Connector to be present on the iPad, as it was on the 9th generation model. We also expect a 12-megapixel FaceTime HD camera to be present again, allowing for features like Center Stage.
Design
Apple’s iPad 10th generation will feature flatter edges – much like those found on the rest of Apple’s iPad portfolio – though it is expected to retain the Touch ID home button at the bottom of the display rather than switch to the uniform bezel design of the iPad Air.
Additionally, the entry-level iPad is expected to feature a dual rear camera in a pill-shaped housing on the back instead of a single sensor, which will be an interesting move given even the iPad Air and iPad mini have single sensors.
Available and Pricing
It is known that Apple usually holds an event in the summertime, around September or October, to announce new iPads and new Macs. This was how the 9th generation iPad was announced last year. Therefore, we expect similar events this year.
As we all know, the iPad 9th generation is priced at $329 in the United States and £319 in the United Kingdom; accordingly, we expect to witness the exact price range a little bit higher for the entry-level iPad 10th generation. However, it should not be forgotten that the anticipated iPhone 14 series is also coming this summer. Hence, we expect to see them all. Follow Techgenyz for more updates.
