Apple has announced the eighth-generation version of its basic iPad which is an update of its entry-level tablet, Apple iPad 8th gen. It will be a 10.2-inch tablet that will carry the A12 chipset. It will be launched at a competitive price point of $329. Education customers will get it for $299.
The A12 chip will enhance the “Neural Engine” processing capabilities and will be available first in the entry-level tablet. It can use its own keyboard case and those made by Logitech.
The iPad 8th gen will work with the first-gen Apple Pencil like the older model. The new Apple iPad 8th generation will run on iPadOS 14 and will include features like the hand-written text input. The Scribble app can be used effectively. However, there is still no USB-C.
It will have an 8MP rear camera. The A12 will offer 40 percent faster CPU and twice better graphics with operations of 5 trillion through the Neural Engine.
The Apple iPad 8th gen also features a standard Touch ID home button. The processing power will also get better. It will be available in space grey, silver, and gold colors in both 32GB and 128GB configurations. An LTE configuration will also be available starting at a competitive price point of $459).
