After the iPhone 7, Apple’s cheaper and smaller iPhone SE 2, with a 4-inch display, is all set to forego the traditional 3.5 mm headphone jack. Japanese blog, Macotakara, reports that interviewing the phone’s case makers, present at the Global Sources Mobile Electronics show, 2018, revealed that while the phone will continue to retain its original size and outlook, it will be missing the audio jack.

Besides the lack of a headphone jack, the other similarities that SE 2 share with the iPhone 7 includes an anterior equipped with touch ID and its adoption of the A10 Fusion chip enabling HEIF / HEVC media recording.

Apple produced the first iPhone SE in 2016 and followed it up with upgraded storage a year later. The original SE is still in production, along with the slightly larger iPhone 6, both of which continue sporting an audio jack.

Apple is yet to comment on the development.
