OnePlus 7 may go official very soon. Recently, CEO Pete Lau has shut all rumors regarding the company’s wireless charging support, and now Lau has revealed more details about OnePlus’ future products. Through a latest Weibo post, Lau hints at wireless earphones with the OnePlus 7 smartphone.
Since the OnePlus 6 smartphone launch came to the OnePlus Bullets Wireless, the company’s first wired earphones, Oneplus CEO Pete Lau opined over a Weibo post on the removal of the earphone jack yesterday. He added the removal of the audio jack would help spur the development of wireless earphones. As with each passing generation, the technology should get better. He said that even though the Bullets Wireless is perfect, it can still be better. He ended the post by asking for suggestions on how to improve their earphones.
Lau said that the removal of the headphone jack would speed up the development of ‘truly’ wireless earphones. Lau added that the OnePlus Bullets are great, but it still can be better. The post has led to speculation among the viewers that the smartphone maker will introduce its first truly wireless headphones alongside the flagship OnePlus 7.
OnePlus could also be working with Qualcomm to integrate aptX adaptive audio, which was announced for wireless headphones last year. We will know more about OnePlus’ plans for its next smartphone and a wireless audio segment in the next few weeks.
