Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are now available in 5 color options: Silver, Black, Gold, Rose Gold & Jet Black. Now, recently a Japanese tech blog Macotakara wrote that Apple seems to launch its 6th color option for these iPhones; it will probably be the ‘Jet White’ color.
But this much information is quite an agnosticism yet, and Macotakara itself accepted that this much information is not sufficient and is unreliable.
Apple never introduces any new color to its existing iPhone, but this time it’s a different move taken by Apple, as it is going to add a Jet White color option to the iPhone 7 series. As we all know, this product successfully completed one year in the market with the Jet-Black color.
This is the first time an existing product will come up with a new color. Otherwise, it always happens for new designs. For example, Apple added the Gold color with iPhone 5s and Rose Gold with iPhone 6s.
The same thing happened at the time of the iPhone 4 too. Its white color option was launched after the nine-month completion of the black option in the market. Both the colors were going to launch at the same time but because of some manufacturing problems, it was there in the market nine months later.
On the other hand, Apple just now introduced its ceramic Apple Watch Edition, which has a white case finish. Benjamin Mayo’s article at 9to5Mac.com says that
“the cost and practicality of making an iPhone out of the same material is not clear and by no means a sure thing. It seems even more far-fetched that Apple would add such a radical change to the existing iPhone 7 series hardware.”
As per my knowledge is concerned, the company is probably planning for the iPhone 8 right now instead of planning for a new color for the existing one. And Macotakara is also didn’t provided any confirmed information yet. Moreover, Apple’s official blog also didn’t reveal any official announcement about this yet.
We’re looking forward to the justification and confirmation of this rumor by Apple itself.
