The Apple ‘Hi, Speed’ event was launched live today by Tim Cook. The first product that was shown on offer by Cook was the HomePod Mini.
Tim Cook mentioned that it is ‘a new era for iPhone,’ with the new 5G support in the new phones that the company will offer.
In the event, a new HomePod with additional and improved features has been introduced. This is a new speaker and it will be equipped with Siri according to the company. The HomePod Mini is a smaller and portable version of the Apple HomePod.
The new device will have rounder design language and a fabric cover, not seen in an earlier generation. The new HomePod Mini will have computational audio and shall be powered by the Apple S5 Chip. The fabric exterior will be seen in two colours- black and white and the Siri Waveform can be seen in a small display panel on the top of the device.
The HomePod Mini has a tiny, is spherical shape, and can be used as an intercom system for domestic purposes. This facility of intercom helps in connecting various devices.
Apple and security and data encryption are of prime importance for the company, as provided. For now, it will be available in black and grey colours only.
The new speaker will come for $99, the pre-booking starts from the 6th of November, launching the sales from 16 Nov in the U.S.
