Apple has announced the arrival of their MagSafe Duo chargers during their iPhone 12 launch event in October. Since then, several speculations were going around regarding the MagSafe charger line.
Recent reports have revealed that a particular MagSafe Duo charger has passed the certification tests in South Korea and will soon be seen in the market.
On November 3rd, 2020, Apple’s unsold MagSafe Duo charger cleared out the compliance test of the National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) of South Korea. The NRRA is the equivalent of the US FCC and with this, the charger could enter the market of that particular region.
Apple MagSafe Duo is reminiscent of the canceled AirPower charging mat. It can charge iPhone 12 and Apple Watch simultaneously. However, it will not work for the AirPods.
The company has not yet released any price details or release date for the MagSafe Duo charger. It is also not listed in the Apple online store. Apple only stated that the charger will arrive at a ‘later date’.
The pre-ordering of iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be starting on November 6th and there will another Apple event on November 12. Apple may launch or release more information on MagSafe Duo at any of these events. Let’s wait till Apple’s next announcement.
