A month ago, we discovered a Bluetooth and WiFi certification for the Galaxy J3 Top SM-J337T / SM-J336AZ / SM-S357BL). Today it is his big brother, the Galaxy J7 Top who receives the Bluetooth and WiFi certificate. The Korean support page is already online, which indicates that the smartphone will be introduced in the short term.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Top certificates
On April 25, 2018, a Samsung mobile phone with model number SM-J737S received the Bluetooth certificate. We do not have to guess at the product name; it’s neatly mentioned. The device is named Samsung Galaxy J7 Top. Behind it is ‘KR,’ which stands for Korea.
The WiFi certificate was issued today, April 26, 2018, for model number SM-J737S. Again this is the Korean version of the Galaxy J7 Top. The international variant is given similar numbers, with the ‘S’ no longer standing for the Korean providers SK Telecom but for other telecom providers. For example, the Samsung SM-J737P is probably meant for Sprint. The smartphone is running on the Android 8.0 operating system.
To complete the story, we also looked up the Korean certificate. The National Radio Research Agency in Korea approved the mobile phone on April 23, 2018.
For a long time, an introduction does not seem to take place any more. Samsung has already put the support page online in Korea. Since the Galaxy J3 Top has already achieved its certifications, a simultaneous unveiling of both models seems likely.
Samsung SM-J737S and SM-J737P in Geekbench
A few days ago, the SM-J737S first appeared in the Geekbench database. The benchmark test showed that the smartphone is equipped with a 1.59 GHz octa-core processor; this is probably the Exynos 7870 with 2 GB of RAM. The device achieved a score of 3764 points on a multi-core CPU. The single-core test comes to 736 points.
Halfway through March, we encountered another Geekbench test; this time it was the SM-J737P instead of the SM-J737S. As indicated, this is probably the same model, but not for Korea. However, this smartphone was powered by the Exynos 7885 with 2GB of memory. This gave this device a slightly higher score; 3803 in multi-core and 1199 in single-core.
Other Galaxy J series models
The Galaxy J3 Top and J7 Top are not the only models expected within the J-series. Samsung is very likely to choose its J-series 2018 models, just like the A-series, with new names. For example, last month, we reported on the Galaxy J8, which has also received its WiFi certificate. There is also a Galaxy J8+ expected, and there are sounds about a J6. The Galaxy J2 Pro has already announced by Samsung earlier this year.
In addition, we have recently come across several variants of the J3 and J7; think of the Galaxy J3 and J7 Star. Furthermore, the company has applied for trademarks for the names Galaxy J7 Crown and J3 Orbit and Galaxy J7 Aura and J3 Aura. It is expected that all Galaxy J 2018 models will be introduced in the summer.
