Apple released a new video revealing its works that made the Apple Portrait Lighting Camera feature of iPhone X realized. The explanatory video of about 1 minute and 20 seconds, accompanied by a light funky pop progressive complementary background music, briefly outlines the company’s usage of ‘art of portraiture.’

The marketing of the iPhone X was led by advertising the portrait lighting feature. Apple’s pride in its signature camera technology was echoed in the description of the video that clarifies that they wanted to “create an iPhone that takes studio-quality portraits without the studio.”

The description further states the tech giant’s collaboration with image-makers and ‘world’s best photographers,’ and ‘timeless lighting principles with advanced machine learning.’ The video features an Apple team in the process of creating a portrait image in a professional studio using professional equipment. It ends with the recreation of the portrait using only the iPhone X.

The company as well showed Portrait Lighting with the front camera of the smartphone that enables users to take qualitative photos of themselves without any pro-guidance. The video description begins with: “We studied the art of portraiture from paintings to photographs.”

One of the last scenes shows how ‘dramatic lighting effects can be put on to beautify the photos on iPhones. The feature is still in beta mode for more developments and is a highlight for iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.

This would be an encouragement to iPhone and Apple fans amid recent controversies regarding glitches. Check out the video with this content if you haven’t yet.
