Asus’ AMD graphics card range is something that everyone is looking forward to in general. Recently there had been news of the company announcing a new graphics card in that series.

That came to rest since Asus announced Phoenix Radeon 550 2GB GDDR5 graphics card; subsequently, with the announcement the company’s AMD graphics card range got completed. The new graphics card is based on an aging architecture and comes with a small amount of RAM.

As for its specs, the Phoenix Radeon 550 2GB GDDR5 comes equipped with a Polaris 12-GPU. This is fairly old, four years to be precise. AMD has been able to introduce two generations of GPUs to the market ever since the company started to make these. First came Vega and then came Navi from AMD.

Needless to say, the card is not new and it actually is an update of the Radeon RX 550 which launched three years ago. However, the new version still offers some changes with GDDR5 memory at 7 Gbps instead of 5 Gbps, which operates on a 128-bit bus, not 64-bit. Various OEMs have been offering the card for some time, and now it will finally be available to mass consumers.

Although its launch is very near, its pricing range is still unknown, but it is speculated that the card will be on the ‘cheap’ side since its hardware is fairly old.

The graphics card features 512 stream processors, calibrating its frequency to 1183 MHz. It uses a PCIe 3.0 x16 bus and comes with an HDMI 2.0b output, a DVI-S output, and a DisplayPort 1.4. Its dimensions are 19.2 x 11.5 x 3.9 centimeters.

The Asus Phoenix series Radeon 550 graphics card was first released in 2017, and for its contemporary, the memory specs have shrunk from 2/4 GB GDDR5 / 128-bit / 7 Gbps to 2GB GDDR5 / 64-bit / 6 Gbps.
