Asus Launches ROG Gaming Laptops Powered by NVIDIA GeForce RTX in India

Asus unveiled its latest gaming laptops at January’s CES 2019 event, and it has officially launched its latest Republic of Gamers (ROG) gaming laptop line-up.

These laptops are the ROG Zephyrus S GX531, the ROG Zephyrus S GX701, the ROG Strix SCAR II, and a gaming desktop PC named GL12CX. They come powered by the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics processors line-up with innovative cooling solutions, which help maintain the temperature of each device and ensure delivery of unparalleled continuous gaming performance.

The latest range offers swift 144Hz displays with sleek and light designs, and new 8th Gen ‘Coffee Lake’ Intel Core CPUs.

Details about the devices are given below.

Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701GX

Featuring a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS-level panel, the display has a refresh rate of 144Hz, encompasses a 100 percent sRGB color spectrum, and is also Pantone Validated. The laptop has a 3ms response time and supports Nvidia G-Sync.

This model is powered by the Intel Core i7-8750H, along with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 (Max-Q) GPU that has 8GB GDDR6 VRAM and a 24GB of DDR4 RAM, clocked at 2666MHz.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701GXThe storage of the laptop is a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD.

Connectivity options on the laptop include a USB 3.1 Gen 2 (Type-C) with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery, along with USB3.1 Gen1 Type-C, USB3.1 Gen2 Type-A, USB3.1 Gen1 Type-A, and an HDMI 2.0b port.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701GX, being the company’s preeminent laptop model, is priced at Rs 3.49 lakh and will be available in India from April 11.

Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX531

Claimed by Asus to be the world’s slimmest gaming laptop with exterior measurements of 15.35~16.15mm, this laptop model has a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS-level panel with a 144Hz refresh rate.

ROG Zephyrus S GX531It utilizes the Intel Core i7-8750H CPU and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU that has 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. The storage is 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD.

The connectivity options are a USB 3.1 Gen 2 (Type-C), a couple of USB2.0, one USB3.1 Gen2, one USB 3.1 Gen 1, one HDMI 2.0b, one mDP 1.2, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Priced at Rs 2,39,990, the Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX531 will be available in India from April 11.

Asus ROG Strix Scar II

Featuring a 15.6-inch 144Hz anti-glare full-HD screen, this laptop model is powered by a six-core Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. There is also a variant with Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU and 512GB SSD, which comes at a price of Rs. 2,09,990.

Asus ROG Strix Scar IIThe storage includes a 256GB PCIe SSD as well as a 1TB 5400rpm SSHD.

The Scar series is for FPS (first-person shooter) players and comes with a gunmetal lid, red accents, and a printed camouflage pattern. It has translucent WASD keycaps and features RGB backlit keyboards with four lighting zones; an RGB LED light bar on the front lip, and an illuminated ROG logo on the lid.

The connectivity options are one USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C and Type-A port, with two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, Mini DisplayPort and HDMI video outputs, an SD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 5.

The RTX 2060 variant of the laptop costs Rs 1,64,990 and is already available in India.

Asus ROG Strix Hero II

Featuring a 15.6-inch 144Hz anti-glare full-HD screen, this laptop model is powered by a six-core Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.

The storage includes a 256GB PCIe SSD as well as a 1TB 5400rpm SSHD.

Asus ROG Strix Hero IIThe laptop is black with a “cyber-text” printed pattern.

It comprises RGB backlit keyboards with four lighting zones; an RGB LED light bar on the front lip, and an illuminated ROG logo on the lid. The laptop’s QWER keys are translucent WASD keycaps to enable smooth MOBA-style gaming.

The connectivity options are one USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C and Type-A port, with two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, Mini DisplayPort and HDMI video outputs, an SD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 5.

The Asus ROG Strix Hero II costs Rs 1,64,990 and is already available in India.

Asus ROG Strix GL 12 CX desktops

Powered by an up to Intel Core i9-9900K processor with 32GB DDR4 RAM and a custom closed-loop liquid cooler for heat diffusion, these desktops have three variants.

The base variant includes an Intel Core i7-8700 CPU with an Intel B360 chipset-based motherboard, powered by Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU with 16GB of DDR4 RAM storage of 512GB PCIe SSD and 1TB hard drive. It is priced at Rs. 2,13,990.

Asus ROG Strix GL 12 CX desktopsWith the same features with 32GB of DDR4 RAM and 256 GB PCIe SSD a 2TB hard drive is priced at Rs. 2,19,990.

The highest quality desktop features a 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU with 32GB of DDR4 RAM, Intel Z390-based motherboard, 512GB PCIe SSD, and 2TB hard drive. It is priced at Rs. 3,29,990.

All three variants also include DVD-RW drives, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 5, with varying front and rear ports per the model.

The Asus ROG Strix GL 12 CX desktops are already available in India.
