Asus has announced that the company will host a new virtual event that will mark the launch of its new student-focused, or in other words, budget-friendly, products. Although the company has not revealed much information about the details of the products, it has given us a preliminary idea as to what to expect.
As per the teaser of the new event, the new upcoming products will come with pre-installed Google apps such as Google Classroom, Play Store, Gmail, and YouTube. A few sources claim that Asus will launch a new series of budget-friendly Chromebooks and tablets.
The event is scheduled to take place on July 15th; furthermore, the company has also revealed that these new products will first appear in India and will be sold through the eCommerce site Flipkart. Although both Asus and Flipkart are yet to reveal the details about the launch, the upcoming products are speculated to include Chromebooks from Asus. Asus had partnered with Flipkart in the past to launch new smartphones and Windows laptops in India.
This new partnership is just another major step for the company to strengthen its connections within the Indian markets.
Flipkart has been our long-term strategic partner to bring in path-breaking innovations to the Indian market. We are very happy and strongly believe this collaboration will bring about a radical change in the digital lives of Indians,” – Leon Yu, Regional Director, India, and South Asia, Asus.
A dedicated microsite has been created on Flipkart to announce the July 15 launch. Although the Taiwan-based company has a plethora of Chromebooks under its wing that is available in the global market, the company has not yet brought any of these models to India.
Ajay Veer Yadav, Senior Vice-President, Mobiles, Electronics and Large Appliances at Flipkart, said that the new range of Asus products was aimed at “simplifying digital access for millions” of Indian consumers.
