BlackBerry with its Indian manufacturing partner Opteimus launched the Evolve series; BlackBerry Evolve and BlackBerry Evolve X. The launch of the two smartphones took place today at an event held in New Delhi at 11 a.m. Both the smartphones as confirmed by the company has been designed and manufactured in India.
The two phones bring forth several first-time openings for the brand, including an 18:9 display, with Quick Charge 3.0 and a massive 4000mAh battery, wireless charging, and most importantly a face unlock. Unlike KEY 2 that was launched last month; Evolve and Evolve X abstain from the physical keyboard for an all-screen front fascia, with both devices sporting a 5.99-inch FHD+ (2160×1080) 18:9 panel.
To make it a little more tempting to the customers the company confirms that the back fingerprint sensor will unlock within 0.3 seconds and face unlock that will unlock the phone within 0.4 seconds.
Both phones have a textured back that’s alike to KEY2. The DTEK is installed on both the phones by BlackBerry that enhances BlackBerry Hub along with battery-saver mode to let users customize their own power profile.
In terms of camera Evolve X comes with a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture, 1.4-micron pixels) and a 13-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.6 aperture, 1.0-micron pixels) with a 6P lens and dual tone LED flash. Whereas BlackBerry Evolve sporting a dual rear camera setup with two 13-megapixel sensors that come with f/2.0 aperture, RGB+Mono mode, and dual tone LED flash. Both phones share camera features including refocusing mode, 4X autofocus, and slow motion video.
The main difference between the two devices is the chipset. Evolve is powered by Snapdragon 450 whereas Evolve X with the best mid-range chipset Snapdragon 660. Hence Evolve X will have plenty of power on tap.
As in terms of pricing BlackBerry Evolve has been price tagged for Rs.24, 990 ($365) with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. And BlackBerry Evolve X at Rs.34, 990 ($510) with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Both the devices will be available within this year, Evolve will set out by end August and Evolve X will be available from mid-September via Amazon and eventually via offline retailers.
