BlackBerry will launch its new smartphone KEY2 on June 7 in New York, revealing the phone’s official teaser video today, May 25. The video shows the design and the features of the new phone.
It clarifies that BlackBerry debuted in the dual camera space for smartphones with the BlackBerry KEY2. The handset will feature a dual rear camera with LED flash. Its rear panel will have a diamond pattern design to offer an ideal grip.
As for buttons, there are three of those on the right-hand side: the power button, volume controls, and a third button seem to be the convenience key or camera shutter button. It’s a touchscreen phone and comes with BlackBerry’s QWERTY keypad. Towards the end of the video, the teaser highlights a secret button sitting at the right-hand bottom of the keypad.
Concerning specs, BlackBerry KEY2 will sport a 4.5-inch display supporting 1620 x 1080 pixels and a 3:2 aspect ratio. It is supposed to pack Snapdragon 660 and 6GB RAM. The device will be expandable in terms of memory, primarily bearing 64GB of storage.
Regarding the camera, there should be a 21 MP primary module and an 8 MP secondary module. Other details on specs, price, and availability of KEY2 will be disclosed at launch. Stay tuned!
