The Death Stranding 2 release date (specifically the launch year) appears to have been leaked by a senior artist working on the game ahead of time.
Due to the unique way it combines game elements and a compelling story, Death Stranding has gained a sizable fan base since its release. Fans of the first game awaited the sequel’s formal announcement with bated breath, and Death Stranding 2 was ultimately announced at the Game Awards 2022. Despite sharing a trailer, the creators did not provide a release date or an estimated year.
Death Stranding 2 will not be released until 2024
Frank Aliberti, a senior artist at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts, is the source of the leak. Aliberti’s ArtStation profile page states that the game will have a release date sometime in 2024. After then, the information was removed from ArtStation, but it was too late because somebody had already taken a screenshot.
Death Stranding 2 is most likely going to release only for the PlayStation 5 platform at launch. However, it may later appear on PC as well. Additionally, Hideo Kojima has stated that this won’t be a typical sequel. He intends to provide something unique for new players who have not yet played any of the Death Stranding games.
Considering that the game is in development, 2024 seems like a probable release date for Death Stranding 2; as we’ve seen in the past, anything can happen. However, the year could also refer to the duration of the artist’s involvement in the project.
Anyhow, it seems clear that Kojima Productions will not release the eagerly awaited game any time soon, and the sequel Death Stranding 2. When Death Stranding 2 is released, it will be fascinating to see how fans respond to it, given how well the original Death Stranding has been received.
