A new generation of notebooks from the tech giant Dell appeared on a benchmark platform on December 4, 2021. The latest device comes equipped with AMD’s yet-to-be-launched R7 5825U processor. Previously, it was reported by various sources that AMD is working on refreshing its Ryzen 5000 APU lineup, and as part of its development, the company will also launch the new Ryzen R7 5825U, which will be used in various devices, and although AMD is yet to officially launch the new processor lineup, Dell has already announced its device which will be powered by the said processor.
Although the exact specification of the processor is not mentioned, the new lineup from AMD is expected to bring better process optimizations and a better clock speed.
According to a few online sources, the AMD R7 5825U is the new and better version of the R7 5800U, and AMD is likely to introduce the chipset at CES 2022.
The new device from Dell, which appeared on a benchmark platform, will feature the R7 5825U processor that features an 8-core 16-thread and 16GB DDR4-3200 memory. The benchmark platform does not expose much information about the upcoming device, but it does mention that the display screen of the new laptop will come with a 1920 x 1200 resolution.
The AMD R7 5825U is codenamed Barcelo and comes with Zen3+ Vega architecture and a 7nm process. The Ryzen 6000U series, which was codenamed Rembrandt, has been upgraded to Zen3+ architecture and the core display has been upgraded to Navi2. The new processor supports DDR5 and LPDDR5 memory. Rembrandt will be a significant upgrade to their APUs, and very few details are available about the exact specifications. Moreover, AMD is unlikely to refresh its Cezanne-H lineup.
The AMD CES 2022 online conference is likely to start on January 4, 2021.
