Microsoft has unintentionally disclosed unannounced information about one of Blizzard’s most anticipated games. After weeks of leaks and speculations, the Diablo 4 download size and launch date now seem to have been actually confirmed via the Microsoft Store.
Fans of the Diablo series are asking for clarification on the release date of the upcoming game, which Blizzard has previously given a launch window of 2023. Despite earlier reports that Blizzard would be planning for April, a fresh leak from the Microsoft store first noted by Aggiornementi Lumia claims that Diablo 4 will launch on June 5, 2023. Further, the Diablo 4 download size is mentioned to be 80 GB.
Although it was only available for a short while, the savvy leaker nevertheless managed to track it down. Given how soon it was taken down, it’s possible that Microsoft realized the mistake and that this was indeed the official launch date for Diablo 4.
According to the game’s official description, Diablo 4 is “the never-ending conflict between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells rages on as chaos threatens to swallow Sanctuary. With never-ending demons to kill, countless abilities to master, nightmare dungeons, and legendary riches, this enormous, open universe holds the promise of adventure and destruction.”
The download size of Diablo IV is reportedly 80GB and it will be available on all the major platforms including the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. For a Diablo core game, this download size is huge in comparison to previous games.
The upcoming action role-playing game Diablo 4 is developed by Blizzard and is a part of the renowned series that practically invented the genre. Diablo 4 launch should surpass its predecessor in quality because of its renewed emphasis on gothic atmospheres and richer mechanisms. It builds upon the franchise’s original strengths while incorporating some of Diablo 3’s modernity.
