A promotional poster for the original animated film “Raya and the Last Dragon,” has been released by Disney. The film is based on Southeast Asian culture. This film is Disney Animation Studios’ first original animated film after “Moana” in 2016.
“Raya and the Last Dragon” is an epic fantasy adventure film set in a realm known as Lumandra, an ancient civilization living in the land of five families, where the heroine, Raya, embarks on a journey of finding the last dragon.
This upcoming animated fantasy film has been directed by Paul Briggs, (known for “Supermarine”, “Snow and Ice”) and Dean Wellings, who is known for “The Clock’s Story”, “The Princess and the Frog”.
The central character of the film is Raya, a fearless warrior who is searching for the last dragon. Cassie Steele will voice this charismatic character. Awkwafina will voice Sisu, who is a water dragon that can turn into a human being. The screenplay has been written by Keir Murray (Racing Master 3) and the film is produced by Osnat Schuller (Ocean Edge).
“Raya and the Last Dragon” is not musical. This animated film was originally scheduled for release on November 25, 2020, but the release has been postponed until March 12, 2021, due to the pandemic.
