Walt Disney Animation Studios has dropped the first teaser for this November’s Frozen 2. Disney on Wednesday morning released the highly anticipated trailer for Frozen 2, the follow-up to its massive 2013 hit. The trailer doesn’t release much of the plot, but the glimpse reveals certain movie characters.
The new teaser drops a dramatic sequence in which Elsa (Idina Menzel), one of the protagonists, uses her supernatural powers to climb, run, and even slide across a body of frozen water. Disney released Frozen, a reimagining of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen, and found massive success. The film introduced two princesses from the fictional land of Arendelle, Anna (Kristen Bell), and her older sister Elsa (Idina Menzel).
However, when Elsa accidentally forces Arendelle into an eternal winter with the magical powers she never learned to fully control, Anna ventures after her fleeing sister to save both the kingdom and their relationship.
Disney made its fan wait for nearly 6 years before it could finally announce for its Frozen sequel release. Frozen 2 will see Bell and Menzel return to their roles as Anna and Elsa, respectively, as well as Josh Gad as the snowman Olaf.
Frozen made over $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office, making it Walt Disney Animation Studio’s biggest hit ever. Hope it keeps up to the expectation of the global fans this time as well.
