Disney finally rolls out Disney Plus streaming service that will launch on November 12, with subscriptions starting at $6.99 per month. Disney has already given us glimpses of what Disney+ will look like along with some other titillating specifics on new exclusives, series, and functionality for the platform.

The company intends to make any new film releases exclusive to its platform, and has already begun the process of pulling its content from other services like Netflix. Disney Plus will launch in the US on 12 November, at the cost of US $6.99 a month. The company has not yet released details for any other markets.

Executives confirmed that unlike Hulu and ESPN+, Disney+ would be completely ad-free hence making its money only from their subscription fee. Disney’s direct-to-consumer chairman, Kevin Mayer also said the company is more likely to offer a bunch of discounted products that includes Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+.

Mayer and other Disney executives also offered the first glimpse of what they called is a working prototype of the Disney+ service. At large it looked very similar to any other streaming app like the Netflix, but the company announced that all the content would be available to download for offline viewing.

For those familiar with Netflix, Disney+ will adopt a very similar user interface, with recommended shows and movies appearing alongside newly released content. The service will also feature five hubs, containing the significant franchises belonging to the entertainment giant – Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
