DJI has officially introduced its latest drone called the Air 2S. The last drone that the company manufactured was the Mavic Air 2 which came out in 2020. The new drone from DJI comes with improvements in various areas including its camera, making it a tad better than the last drone launched by the company.
The new DJI drone is better when it comes to its various specs. To start with, the DJI Drone Air 2S features a better and larger 1-inch CMOS sensor that gives more vivid resolution outputs. The inclusion of the new sensor is certainly an upgrade to the last 0.5-inch sensor that was equipped on the Mavic Air 2 which offered 0.8μm pixels. Notably, the new CMOS sensors offer 2.4μm pixels.
The company is claiming that the new drone can capture images up to 5.4K qualify, certainly better than the Mavic Air 2. But it is imperative to mention that the DJI Air 2S can successfully avoid obstacles when the drone moves upwards or comes down, forward or backward. The device comes with a maximum control range of 12 km which is higher than that of Air 2.
However, one thing that must be mentioned here is that the Air 2S weighs slightly more than the Mavic Air 2. Under the hood, the new drone runs on a 3500mAh battery that offers a service of 31 minutes which is 2 minutes less than the in-flight duration offered by the previous Mavic Air 2.
Moreover, the latest drone also comes with new features such as the MasterShot which captures more powerful images when compared to the previous drone.
The DJI Air 2S is already on sale on DJI’s official website. The pricing for the drone starts at $999, for the base package that comes with the drone, the battery, two pairs of propellers, and the DJI RC-N1 controller.
