Dear readers, we have a new smartphone brand from Spain to be more widely used in the market: Doogee, and today, January 6, it has officially announced its new Android phone Doogee V. Most interestingly, it comes with iPhone X-ish cut, alongside in-display fingerprint scanner.
The Spanish brand’s state-of-the-art features were spotted by a Chinese investor in March 2013. Soon it was acquired by Shenzhen Kavid Communication Apparatus Co. Ltd. and is led by the Chinese company’s CEO Xin Chao. Familiar football fans, especially La Liga followers, would know that Doogee has been the official sponsor for Villarreal C.F. since 2014, via which major deal signing began the expansive journey of the brand in global markets.
Google is now known for copying leading brand phone designs, and the Apple iPhone X cut suggests the trend continuing. In 2016, the Spanish smartphone maker pioneered copying the Mi Mix series of mobiles after Xiaomi’s official launch. Well, that turned out well as a few other brands followed the same, but choosing Apple would raise eyebrows and then lower with wonder.
Firstly, the front design matches that of the iPhone X. The 6.2-inch display that’s bezel-less along the sides is expected to offer an FHD+ resolution. The first official video released by the company shows the device has an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual rear camera with flash, and a USB Type-C port at the bottom.
There are not many details on specs, price, and availability are known yet but are expected to be revealed at the CES next week. It is further expected that the likes of Oppo, Vivo and other smartphone manufacturers will follow Doogee in copying, again.
