The Indian government imposed a ban on the popular game PUBG in September 2020 following the government’s concern regarding the border tension with China. The decision was not met with positive reactions; however, the existing players of the game who installed the game before the ban was imposed continued to enjoy the game.
A few weeks later, a similar game with the name FAU-G was introduced. On January 3, the Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar unveiled the game FAU-G’s anthem, its released date. Needless to say, it garnered a range of reactions online.
According to the Instagram post, FAU-G, which is based on the Indian Army’s soldiers, is set to release on January 26.
The actor’s Instagram post reads,
“Whether it’s a problem within the country or at the border…these Bharat Ke Veer always stand tall. They are our Fearless And United Guards, our FAU-G! Witness the anthem.”
A short video of the game shows that the game is set in Ladakh where the Indian soldiers go up against the enemy forces.
Google Play Store offers an elaborate description of the game which is as follows, “High up on the peaks at India’s northern border, an elite fighting group protects the nation’s pride and sovereignty. It’s a daunting task, for the most courageous: The Fearless and United Guards. Join a special unit of FAU-G commandos on patrol in dangerous border territory.
