NASA’s Technology Transfer program has created an online resource to promote the commercial use of open remote-sensing data. The new NASA remote sensing toolkit will make it easier for users to find, analyze and utilize the most appropriate data for their research, conservation efforts or business projects.
NASA’s policy of remote sensing data has been of beneficiary for the scientific community, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations. The debuted toolkit provides a simple system that quickly identifies relevant sources based on user input. The online toolkit will help users search for data and ready-to-use tools and code to build new tools.
This new tool will make it easier to find and utilize NASA Satellite than ever before. The new innovation leads to further commercialization of NASA technology benefitting people across the world among the entrepreneurial community. NASA’s data collected each year is recognizable among millions of science users, but accessing and utilizing this data remains discouraging for many potential commercial users and the new toolkit will help to lead them further.
Over the years numerous organizations found their own innovative ways to take on NASA satellite data as beneficial information. According to Kevin Murphy of NASA’s Earth Science Division in Washington, the new remote-sensing toolkit will help further to put NASA’s free and open data archive to work for people.
A tutorial on the NASA remote sensing toolkit will be held by the Technology Transfer Program, ensuring that the data is broadly available to the public. Willing participants need to sign up so to be notified of future webinars.
