Though the Game of Thrones series might have ended, we would not want to have the experience end so early. So for all the VR lovers and GoT fans, HTC announced that a VR experience based on Game of Thrones is set to launch exclusively on Viveport Infinity starting today, supporting Vive and Rift.
Called Beyond The Wall, it’s developed by Framestore, in partnership with HBO, and it’s launching this week. The basis of the game is that you join the Night’s Watch to defend the Wall from the dead. There the players will be able to test their sword-fighting skills against an undead polar bear and hoard of wights.
Beyond the Wall made its first debut at selected AT&T stores as a ‘4D’ brand engagement activation to promote its final season of Game of Thrones; this represents the first time users will be able to jump into the experience at home.
To use Infinity, however, you’ll need supporting hardware. You can access it on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets. But Viveport Infinity is also coming to Windows Mixed Reality headsets next week.
Beyond The Wall will be available in the US, UK, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina from today.
