Google Launches Family Link App for Families With Parental Control in It

Google, has introduced another Android app named Family Link App, specifically designed for kids with some parental control in it. To run this app, mobile devices need Android Nougat (7.0) or a higher version. Parents can download the app and can create an account for their kids with some rules in it.

Technology is changing day by day and people can do a lot of things with their smartphones. Smartphones are the gateway to the ocean of knowledge and information for us to explore and when it comes to opening up the same information for kids it’s tricky. Certain apps are designed in a way that should be limited to kids and families feel differently about what their kids should and shouldn’t be able to do on their devices.

Currently, this is an invitation-only program – users in the US can register on the Google Family Link website, after receiving an invite, parents with kids under 13 years old can download and try the Family Link app.

Parents can use the Family Link app to manage the apps their kids can use to keep an eye on screen time and to set device bedtime. The new app can also be used as a tool so that kids can start to explore new things.

Google is taking feedback from the parents to further enhance the features of the app. Contrary to Google’s earlier lunches, the Family Link app is currently not available on iOS devices but we could expect soon it is coming to iPhones. Google has listed more detail on the FAQ page about the newly launched app.
