It’s no more big news that Google is shutting down Google+ earlier than initially planned. The search giant revealed in December 2018 that it would put an end to its social media platform in April 2019 instead of August 2019. But In today’s update about the Google+ situation, Google also revealed other upcoming milestones that will take effect in the months before the April 2 shut down.

The first one kicks off on February 4, when you can no longer create Google+ profiles, pages, communities, or events. If you are managing a Google+ community, Google announces that you can already start downloading and saving some of the data from that service, though additional data will be available for download in March.

In the coming weeks, Google will replace the Google+ Sign-in buttons with Google Sign-in ones and remove the Google+ comments feature from Blogger as early as Monday, February 4th. Google+ will also remove Google widgets that support the +1 Button, Google+ Followers, and Google+ Badge from all blogs.

The feature will disappear from other platforms by March 7th. Google really pushed bloggers to integrate Google+ into their comment platform, and now that is going away.

The new version of the Google+ Android app will be released on February 22, 2019. G Suite Android users will need to update the Google+ Android app before March 7, 2019, to continue using Google+ on their mobile devices. Google says that old versions of the app will no longer be supported.

For G Suite users, the Google+ social media platform will remain active, and Google says that it should receive a new look and more features in the coming weeks. Google apologizes for the inconvenience created to its users and looks forward to delivering new functionality in the coming months. We really look forward to the new changes.
