Just three years after making its first appearance, Google Stadia is about to close down permanently. As a farewell gift, Google has released Stadia’s last game and has promised to release a controller update the following week that will enable Bluetooth connectivity on the Stadia Controller.

Google Stadia, which was introduced in 2019, represented a significant and expensive investment by Google in the video gaming industry. However, Google made the announcement to shut down Stadia back in September 2022. It had a framework similar to Xbox Cloud Gaming, but it never quite achieved the same level of success. The main reason for Stadia’s termination, according to Google, was its failure to establish traction with users.

Google Stadia’s last game is a Snake-like genre Worm game

Google describes Stadia’s lastĀ game as “Worm Game is a humble title we used to test several of Stadia’s features, starting far before our 2019 public launch, right through 2022. It won’t win Game of the Year, but the Stadia team spent a LOT of time playing it, and we thought we’d share it with you. The company concluded by thanking users for using Stadia and for their support throughout this journey.

The Worm Game is similar to the SnakeĀ games, in which players must move a snake-like line through barriers, a challenge that becomes more difficult over time as a result of the snake’s steadily growing length. This weekend is the last chance to play your favoriteĀ games on Google Stadia, as it will goĀ offline permanently on January 18.

In addition to the lastĀ game, Google has promised to make Stadia controllers Bluetooth-enabled. Google Stadia users will be thrilled to learn that a new featureĀ to activate Bluetooth on the Stadia Controller will be available next week. If you have any Stadia games on your wishlist, get over to the official website before they disappear.
