Google’s spree of joining other forces in the market for future developmental implementations has a new feather. Tencent agreed to join hands with the search giant to share patents across products and technologies.
This is an influential alliance that brings two of the world’s biggest companies together in the platform of cross-licensing, with the aim to take future technologies to greater heights. The agreement is going to benefit both of them. Google can strengthen its base further in China, and Tencent will have the chance to expand itself in the States and, thusly, globally.
It is also true that the partnership created is practically another industrial arrangement between corporations to minimize patent infringements. For instance, Google has recently partnered with Samsung and others, making it a spree for itself in its progressions.
Furthermore, it’s important to note that the American company ended self-censorship, which led to the withdrawal of its search engine from China in 2010.
