At Google’s fall hardware event which took place at the end of September, the search engine giant introduced its latest phones Made by Google hardware. In a recent tweet, Google announced a “Google Search On” event that is, according to the tweet, to take place on October 15. The event will discuss the latest improvements to Google Search, among other things.
Google’s famous I/O event, a multi-day developer conference that the company hosts every year serves as the platform for Google to not only connect with the developers but also is the perfect event to introduce new features, services, and products. However, this year the I/O event, like so many other events, was canceled due to banal reasons. So, this year Google has decided to shift its focus to looking for new ways to incorporate improvements into search.
The new event which Google has titled “Search On” will be a Livestream event hosted on YouTube and on the official Search On website. The event will mainly serve as a platform where Google would discuss the latest ways through which the company has invested in harnessing the power of AI to eventually help people understand more of the world around them.
The California-based company is interestingly tight-lipped about the event, and is non-reluctant on giving out more information, besides its focus on search and “the power of AI”. All Google has revealed about the event could be explained through the quote attached to the Google Calendar event link which reads a simple message: “Join us to hear how Google is helping people explore information like never before.”
In previous years, Google events such as I/O have served the function to introduce major Google Search related features like “Google Duplex” which later was integrated into the Google Assistant. If the upcoming online event turns out to be similar to the I/O events, it could possibly introduce new Google Search features.
