As the launch date approaches, Gotham Knights are causing considerable consternation among fans, notably regarding the game’s performance. The bad news for console users is that Gotham Knights, which will be released on all platforms on October 21, will only support a maximum frame rate of 30 FPS and lack a performance setting.

Games usually offer 30 to 60 frames per second, with certain games giving greater FPS ranges based on the game’s technology and specifications. With a low FPS, the game will seem jerky, feel less efficient, and not express the visuals in an especially gratifying way.

Fans have been criticizing the Gotham Knights console FPS limit

Marty announced the Gotham Knights Console FPS limit news on the game’s Discord server on Friday. She clarified that there wouldn’t be a way to change the game’s visual settings between high quality and a performance mode that would increase the frame rate. The “completely untethered co-op experience” and the “extremely detailed open-world,” as Fleur noted in her discord post, were the aspects that limited the FPS on consoles.

Being an action game, Gotham Knights would perform more smoothly and quickly with a higher frame rate. This announcement likely disappoints a lot of players, particularly considering how close to the release day it has been disclosed.

The information, though comes after it was announced that the game would launch on November 29 with a free four-player co-op mode named Heroic Assault. However, in this mode, four players will band together to battle Gotham’s villains, but the game’s story only allows two-player co-op.

Given that Gotham Knights was expected to be so rich and realistic in every way – from the options to the settings and character perspectives – many fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the game’s 30 FPS restriction. Several fans have started criticizing WB for concealing information regarding Gotham Knights in order to increase sales.

It’s possible that many console gamers who are eagerly awaiting Gotham Knights may decide not to purchase it. Assuming a 30 FPS limit, let’s see how far this game lives up to player expectations.
