After a long wait, the Honor Magic 2 3D has finally been launched in China. This new smartphone may be termed as a slightly better and upgraded version of the previous Honor Magic 2. The new Honor Magic 2 3D comes with a 3D structured light sensor. What is remarkable about this feature is having a 3D sensor that will make the camera more accurate, and it will be able to detect faces even in darkness, enabling high-accuracy biometric faces to unlock at times. This light beam has the ability to bounce back from any surface to the sensory receptor capturing an accurate picture. This mechanism is somewhat similar to Apple’s iPhone X, which utilizes the infrared blaster and dot projector mechanism.

Graphene cooling plates are installed inside the smartphone, enabling fast charging and better performance under heavy loads. It will run on Kirin 980 SoC with RAM of 8GB and 512 GB. In terms of appearance, the front of the display comes with a slider mechanism, which gives the phone a notch-less appearance. The display is 6.39 inches big with a full HD+ AMOLED display and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will run on a 3,500 mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge support. It also has a fingerprint sensor.

The sliding mechanism helps to hide a three-camera arrangement. So at first, it looks as if the phone does not have a front camera to begin with, but the slider exposes the front camera. The front side has a 16 MP primary camera and two 2 MP cameras which helps with the depth measurement in both selfies and facial recognition. The back of the smartphone houses a triple camera arrangement with a 16 MP primary camera and a 24 MP secondary monochrome camera to add depth, contrast, and texture data to photographs and another 16 MP sensor paired with an ultra-wide angle lens.

The Honor Magic 2 3D is priced at approx Rs 60,600.
